We're Looking for a Communications Intern

You see things differently, don’t you? You view marketing not as trying to convince someone to buy something, but rather, as an opportunity to connect people with something meaningful. To you, public relations isn’t about trying to make someone look perfect, but helping them share the story they don’t know how to tell.

If you were nodding along vigorously as you read that first paragraph, you may be a good fit for the Kevin York Communications Intern position.

KYC is looking for an enthusiastic, self-sufficient, and motivated individual who is eager to gain real-world experience in PR and Marketing. Unlike other internships, this one is more of an apprenticeship where you’ll gain valuable experience in the various nuances of PR and Marketing from conception to execution.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Researching industry trends

  • Content writing, publishing, and distribution

  • Creative brainstorming for internal and external campaigns

  • Providing support to multiple client accounts, as well as new business pitches

  • Tracking client and competitor content in traditional and digital media

  • Contributing to team meetings, brainstorms, and participating in professional development events

Your existing skill set:

  • Exceptional writing and editing skills

  • Social media savviness

  • Basic understanding of email marketing

  • Creativity, and the ability to express your ideas

  • Attention to detail and problem solving skills

  • Ability to multi-task and thrive in a fast-paced environment

  • General understanding of the consumer, travel, and nonprofit industries

  • Ability to work independently and meet tight deadlines

  • A sense of humor!

What’s in it for you?

You’ll jump right in and get hands-on experience working with the company founder and the rest of the KYC team. Our Internship program pays $15.00 per hour and is three (3) months in length. By the end of the program, you will have learned foundational aspects of PR and Marketing based on real-world experience. You will also get a clear understanding of communications best practices and skills that apply to consumer, travel, and nonprofit industries.

Candidates should be available to work 10-15 hours per week and be currently enrolled in a four-year college or university. Candidates must live in the Boston area and be 21 or older.
