Social Responsibility is a core part of KYC and how we do business.

For us, social responsibility means social justice:

All people, no matter their race, gender, sexual preference, religion, or ability should have the same rights, inclusion, and access - in the workplace, at the ballots, in schools, with law enforcement, with housing, to food, and in their communities.

Action

To us, Action is advocacy, philanthropy, and volunteerism.

  • It’s taking on pro bono clients every year focused on specific areas of social responsibility.

  • It’s giving our time to causes that advance social responsibility.

  • It’s raising funds for causes devoted to advancing social responsibility.

  • It’s diversity and inclusion training, progressive hiring practices, and a culture of growth and learning.

Pro Bono Work

Every year, we give our passion, time, experience, and marketing knowledge to at least one social responsibility-focused nonprofit or cause (and sometimes more than one!). Those have included:

  • Boston Harbor Now

  • Campaign to Elect Josette Williams to Boston City Council

  • Fathers’ Uplift

  • Inner City Weightlifting

  • Piers Park Sailing Center

  • Beer Kulture

  • Boston Slammers

  • Campaign to Retire the Valparaiso University Crusader

  • First Teacher

  • Pink Boots Boston Chapter

Fundraising & Special Events

In 2020, during the early stages of the COVID-19 pandemic, food insecurity became a significant issue. Simultaneously, breweries faced challenges associated with taproom and restaurant closures.

To help, we planned and hosted Fest From Home, the first virtual beer festival in Massachusetts, with all proceeds benefiting Project Bread.

  • Raised more than $3,000 for Project Bread

  • Created awareness for the 28 breweries and 6 retailers participating through media coverage, community calendars, and influencers
